This is not a Rickroll. Honest. It's an actual new track from Rick Astley. Oh, Internet, what a benevolent entity you can be, reviving people's careers like this.
A lot of folks like to refer to Mr. Astley as a one hit wonder, which is not in fact accurate. He is a TWO hit wonder. Rick reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with the singles Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever, in 1987 and 1988, respectively.
He then fell off the musical radar until his career was given new life a couple of years ago by the invention of Rickrolling. If you have just arrived from a country with no internet or are suffering from memory loss, Rickrolling is an internet meme that involves tricking people into thinking they're clicking a link one thing - say, a funny ecard with kittens on it or something -when they're actually clicking on the video for Never Gonna Give You Up. Hilarious, right? It eventually moved out of the web and into the real world through things like sporting events and flash mobbing.
Astley hasn't made any money off the meme but it re-established him as a household name without him having to appear on Aging Celebrities Still Desperate For the Spotlight Live in a House Together, or whatever that show is called. So, now he's got new music. Here it is.
...Gotcha. Hahahaha! Ha he. Hee hee. HahaHAHA. Ha hahahahaha (deep breath) (wipes eyes). Heehe. You should SEE YOUR FACE! He. Hee. Whoo!
Here's the real new video.

1987 was a turning point in my life and both of Rick Astley's hit songs said it all ("Never Going To Give You Up" and "Forever"). Whenever I hear those songs on the radio I go back to a better time and place. I like his new song very much and will send it on to the love of my life so many miles away.

I've always loved this man's voice. the video is odd at times, but the song is very nice. I'll listen to it over and over.

Kinda makes me wonder how they mustered up so many people to fill a stadium to watch him sing this new song...
