The UK's Daily Mail and Gibson.com are reporting that the 48-year-old band has teamed up with the 75-year-old board game for a special edition.
Traditional street names used in the British version, such as Old Kent Road and Mayfair, have been replaced with iconic Stones album titles, like
Beggars Banquet. Baltic Avenue is
Sticky Fingers and Park Place turns into
A Bigger Bang (says Gibson...I think I'm mixing countries here…but you get the idea.) The four railway station squares have been redesigned to include the names of the band's major tours, like
Urban Jungle. Chance and Community Chest cards have become Lyrics and Licks.
The Daily Mail says, "Instead of using Monopoly money, players trade Stones concert tickets, while houses and hotels have been replaced with gold and platinum records.
"Even the classic playing pieces aren't safe, with the top hat, iron and metal dog replaced by devil horns, drum kits and wild horses."
The Stones' Monopoly game will be in stores in time for the holiday season. A Beatles version was released in 2008.
