I found this, like many great things, via Fark.com. It's Comfortably Numb by Gregorian Monks! Or so I thought. It was a titch disappointing to learn that the group, Gregorian, are not actually Gregorian monks (which, I assume, still exist?), but a German bunch of guys who perform Gregorian chant "inspired" covers. Still, it's amusing.
Also on the record are covers of Bowie's Heroes, Queensryche's Silent Lucidity and Metallica's Unforgiven.
Comfortably Numb was first released in 1979 on Pink Floyd's The Wall album.
Pink Floyd much better, as originals should be. But I could easily listen to this Gregorian Monks version anytime. Play them both on XM Satellite Radio and I would be thrilled.

The Gregorian version is ok, but it will never replace the sound of the original Pink Floyd.

Not bad, kinda haunting, but no cover I have heard of any Floyd song comes close to the mastery of Gilmour, Mason, Wright, and Waters!
