The latest American Idol winner Scotty McCreery has entered Billboard's Country Songs chart at No. 32 with his debut track I Love You This Big.
Billboard says “The bow marks the highest for a brand new artist's first single since the chart converted to BDS data the week of Jan. 20, 1990,” which sounds technical but good. Then there’s something about “3.2 million audience impressions on 76 of the 127 stations that report to Country Songs.”
Meanwhile, runner-up Lauren Alaina has hit at No. 49 with her single Like My Mother Does.
Here they are, in case you didn’t watch the show. I didn’t. I watched the first episode and a half then got BORED, but have to say that Scotty kid is impressive. He's 17! I'm less wowed by the girl. Also, I hear they're dating, or something. Cute.

Both were great. Scotty seems like a Idol we will be proud of, as he is so kind & appreciates his family & fans.
Don't know how you could have been bored. It was the best season yet & the talent of the top 11 was the best.

I was not rooting for Scotty or Lauren but they are both great and both will probably be big in Country. Seems like a younger crowd are taking over after Carrie Underwood bumped Faith Hill out and Taylor whats her name became famous with the love struck teenies.

This was definately the best Idol show. The talent the judges the program set up, all.

I agree. Thought the show was great all season. Watched Scotty and Lauren grow from day one. Never missed a show.
They will both go a long way. They are both great kids and performers.
All the best!!!

Best season in IDOL history! ! !
Great talent, 2 super new judges. We never missed a show.Scotty could be a far better role model than the Bieber, not to mention his outstanding voice- and we're not even country fans.

I agree with Maureen....it was the best season yet, with consistent top talent that left viewers wondering, week after week, who would be eliminated because they were all so worthy of being in the competition. Scotty and Lauren were great, and both of them deserved to win.

I agree with Maureen. My wife
talked me into watching a little bit of the show when she thought Scotty or Lauren should be in the finals. She loves country and obviously the U.S. is joining the craze. I was hooked and I found that every week it was like watching a concert of amazing talent. Canadian Idol should give it a go again.

I agree with all the comments. The show had incredible talent from day 1. The final was one of the best entertainment shows I can recall.
Can't wait till next season!

I watch American idol very season. This was the best finale and top 13 ever. They both deserve to win and they should cut a duo record. I think it would be great. Good luck great talent.

What a great finale, so happy that Scotty made it. I know that he will go a long way in country music, the best to him.

Scotty, a good singer but not close to the best there was this year.

Two nice and talented young people who have a great future ahead of them !John Shmuir

Scotty was very good but his voice talent pales in comparison to Lauren. The judges/experts eluded to that many times throughout the competition. Lauren has unlimited potential while Scotty, in my opinion, is a more of a stylist who sounds like a few other country singers. But good luck to both Scotty & Lauren :)

Troy you're right on the money!
The most talented didn't win!

well contrary to most of these comments, I thought this was the most uninteresting year ever. I was puzzled by who was voted off and who stayed. Hmmm, hope next year is better.

my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this season. Probably the deepest talent wise, enjoyed the judges, especially Steven Tyler as you never knew what would come out of his mouth, thought both finalists were great, and Scotty really has a future in Country Music( even if he does look alot like Alfred E. Newman). America voted and I think they got it right...

Congratulations Scotty. You are so talented and such a gentleman. I could never have children but if I would have had a son, I would have liked him to be just like you. Stay true and always be yourself. You are a pride for any mother or grandmother in this world.

i loved scotty from day one . i was so happy that he won. this was the best season ever, good luck scotty.

Awesome season, the best in the last 4 years since I started watching American Idol. Yah Scotty didn't have the strongest voice and the most charisma, he still had alot of both though. He had alot of style and deep country roots, that's why he won. He does it so good! I liked watching him. I think most popular artists would never have as strong a voice as some of the American Idol contestants, can't just judge on that alone.
