Beatles fans have a rare chance to see one of their heroes in action as drummer Ringo Starr is slated to stream a live press conference and give a brief performance today (June 1) at 10 am EST. Live4Ever suggest Starr might also take fan questions.

Starr is expected to discuss a forthcoming summer European tour along with his marquee touring band of Edgar Winter, Gary Wright, Rick Derringer, Richard Page, Wally Palmar and Gregg Bissonette, Clashmusic is reporting. Footage of the band rehearsing follows a link to the live stream below.

Following last year's Beatles re-issue campaign, the Fab Four have suddenly became big news all over again. That, combined with the chart-topping success of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards’s dishy, tell-all memoir, Life, has once again raised the age-old question - Who rules: the Beatles or the Stones?

After exhaustive research and soul-searching, the brain trust here at inMusic has weighed in; it’s now up to you, dear readers, to register your preference before a winner can be declared once and for all. Waste no time - CLICK HERE!

Meanwhile, Starr and The All Star Band are set for a 28-date European tour, beginning June 4. Countries across Europe such as Ukraine, Russia, Sweden, Norway and Denmark will be visited, before Starr hits Britain for his first UK tour since 1998, which will include a homecoming performance at the Liverpool Empire on June 18. The UK tour will end in Bournemouth June 24.

Definitely an event worth boarding a plane for.
