Move over Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj. There's a new beef in town between Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah. Dolly called out the Queen Saturday while on stage in Los Angeles, launching into a freestyle rap. Oh yeah. It's a smackdown between the two ladies who appear together in the upcoming flick Joyful Noise.

Queen Latifah may have comparative youth on her side, but Dolly's got like, the entirety of Nashville, not to mention gay communities all over the world.

Latifah has yet to respond. But I bet this gets ugly. Watch the video below.

Well what do you know. I agree with Dolly Rap is Crap. And I am not a country music fan. :)

You want to mix rap and country? Try a rap music remix of Johnny Cash singing, "God's Gonna Cut You Down" with a rap artist adding an overdub.

Obvious publicity stunt for this upcoming flick that nobody cares about.

Rap used to be good, but died 10 years ago. Mind you, so did a lot of music.

....well, alrighty then, this should be interesting.
Sure, I may not overall like rap, but I'm not going to completely diss someone else's style of music =S

Joanne, rap is not crap. Try to appreciate the art form, and not be so close minded. Saying rap is crap is like saying an entire genre of fiction is crap - you're just making yourself seem ignorant. Feel free to dislike specific songs, but please don't help to perpetuate the bad image that rap and hip hop has by insulting THE ENTIRE MUSIC STYLE.

LOVE Dolly...YAY!

Umm, am I the only one who can say SET UP!! Its obvious that these 2 ladies just finished doing a movie together that will be released soon...its probably not that good but what better way to have the masses take notice and go see it but to suddenly start a "rap war". Oh please! Chances are Queen Latifah wrote the lyrics to Dolly's little rap herself! Did you ever think of that??

Who doesn't "luv" Dolly Parton - I'm certainly NOT into rap however, Dolly made it hilarious, if she sings it I'll listen to it!!

Lyrically Hip Hop is the hardest aspect in popular music such as Rock, Country etc. YOu got to be clever with the rhymes. like when you use a simili, punchline, subliminal, etc. Its to bad that most of it goes over hillybillie heads.

I am not a fan of "Rap" music,it's annoying, and repetitive, and the lyrics are usually referring to violence against women or gang activity! Having said that, I think everyone is entitled to listen to their own music "style". I have a lot of respect for Miss Parton, and Queen Latifah, they have both represented their respective music styles well over the years. As long as the "rappers" let me listen to MY music in peace, they can "sing" what they want; but FOR GOD SAKE Don't mix Rap and Country, Johnny Cash is already rolling over in his grave!

To "octopusisguarding"! I'm not sure if that's a play on words, or if you think the title of the Beatles song you are referring to is sung that way? The correct title is " Octopus's Garden". LOL.

Dolly didn't say "rap is crap". She said something to the effect of, "Country plus rap is crap". I think she meant her own rap was crap, and she wasn't dissing anybody. I love Dolly, and I think Queen Latifah's awesome, too, but I had to laugh out loud at the "black my two eyes" comment. Dolly is hilarious! :)

I cant stand rap, & I'm not really into country either, but I DO love Dolly. I mean she's an icon right? BUT... in the words of Dee Snider "IF ITS NOT METAL, ITS CRAP!!"

Rap is made by people who are not talented enough to sing or make music. Period.

just a headline to make you read the article, obviously no beef at all between these two, Dolly just doing a fun Rap to promote the movie her and Queen Latifah are in.

She didn't start anything....IT......WAS......OBVIOUSLY.....A.....JOKE

My my my all this issue over a tiny piece of tissue. I can hardly wait, for the next " thing " to surface in the "quote what is concieved in the vastness of Musical 'SPACE ' " yeah yeah yeah..

It's been said already but this is obviously something to help bring awareness to their film. It's like a Jennifer Anisten relationship with her co star FAKE. Also to Elizabeth wouldn't at least some of the "gay communities from all over the world" side with Queen Latifah after all she is gay herself !!

Get a life people and take out your dictionaries and look up the word IRONY or JOKE...this is all it was.......and @Patrick...I was born and raised in the big city never stepped foot in the backwoods of country, have an MBA and am a professional and I LOVE country music...its comments like yours I would call "Hillbilly"
