Lady Gaga, who is on a campaign to stamp out bullying, paid tribute to a fan who committed suicide last week, on stage at the iHeartRadio Festival on Saturday.
14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer was found dead outside his family home in Buffalo. NY on September 18. The death was ruled a suicide but officials did not say how he died. Rodemeyer was gay and had reportedly been bullied for years.
"We lost a Little Monster this week," Gaga told the crowd at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, with a photo of Rodemeyer posted above her on a screen.
"I wrote this record about how your identity is really all you've got when you're in school ... so tonight, Jamey, I know you're up there looking at us, and you're not a victim. You're a lesson to all of us. I know it's a bit of a downer, but sometimes the right thing is more important than the music."
Then she played Hair.

AS much as alot of people think that this women is crazy she is the most thoughtful caring women in the industry at the moment. She genuinely cares for her fans. She cares about matters that affect people in everyday life. Bullying can be severe and damaging to many. I give Lady Gaga props for putting it out there and fighting the fight. She has many followers and they believe in her so they will believe in the cause. Can she be the end to the horrific bullying of people. Let's hope so. As her tribute to this young man shows many are in need of hr fight.
