Oh, dear. We really hope around here that George Michael’s condition isn’t much more serious than originally reported.
Despite word that the singer is slowly recovering from severe pneumonia in a Vienna hospital, the Daily Mail reports that his family is holding a bedside “vigil.”
The paper says Michael, 48, has been joined by his 75-year-old father Kyriacos Panayiotou, as well as sisters Melanie, 49 and Yioda, 53. His former boyfriend, art dealer Kenny Goss, is also said to be heading to the Austrian capital, while his current beau Fadi Fawaz has apparently been at his bedside since Michael fell ill on Monday of last week.
They could just be being dramatic and sensational but the word “vigil” has ominous tones (as was pointed out by inMusic rock writer Kim Hughes).
A “close friend” is quoted as having told the Mail, "His whole family are with him. They are very close knit all of them. The family are around him. They are such a close family I can’t tell you. They all love each other.
"George is just such a lucky man in that sense. He’s so adored."
On the brighter side, Fawaz seemed in a good mood this morning, when he tweeted, “I have a feeling today is going to be a very special day. Xxx” and yesterday when he wrote, “I'm a happy man :))))”
Doesn’t seem like the communications of a man who is terribly worried, does it?
Michael was rushed to hospital last week and has cancelled the remainder of his Symphonica tour, which was scheduled to run until Christmas.
People are really silly, they are putting negative comments about George like: he's already dead!?! People do think before you add anything...

I was concerned too @Lynn reading this that he had the kind of pneumonia when you are HIV positive. Not that he is as far as I'm aware. But I do hope all goes well for him - he's a great entertainer and with all the wealth & fame, has led a really troubled life. How great that he has that wonderful Greek family all around him.
What kind of pneumonia?? pneumocystis carinii or what?
Is he HIV positive?
Doesn't sound good.
Hope he recovers...he would be missed!

Why is it that the only thing that really bothers me, is the grammar in the statement of the "close friend"?
Hope George is okay, but from what his boyfriend is tweeting, things sound much better.
