Rihanna2
A Sarasota, Florida act called Boyce Avenue has covered Rihanna's "We Found Love." The rendition features piano and sparse percussion and is pretty nice.

Boyce Avenue covers lots of popular songs on their YouTube channel, where you can also find renditions of Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream" and Adele's "Rolling in the Deep."

Of course, YouTube is chock full of covers of "We Found Love" from unknowns, kinda-knowns and well-knowns, like Coldplay. Here's Boyce Avenue's version, Coldplay's version, a version by a group of male singers called Ahmir, and Rihanna herself. Whose do you like best?

George Michael 2
Yesterday we all got a little freaked out over reports that George Michael’s family was holding a “vigil” by his bedside in a Vienna hospital, where he is being treated for pneumonia.

Today the CBC reports that doctors say he’s recovering. Phew.

The 48-year-old former Wham frontman was hospitalized last week and forced to cancel the remainder of his Symphonica tour, which was scheduled to run until Christmas.

Leslie David Baker
I hate the American version of The Office, so I only have a vague idea of who this guy is. But lots of people love that show so this might be relevant to your interests.

This guy is Leslie David Baker and he plays Stanley Hudson on the show. What I know about Stanley is that he is often grumpy and is or was having an extramarital affair - and that's all I got without having to resort to Wikipedia. What I know about Leslie is that he has traded in his serious face for some booty action in his debut music video "2 Be Simple" featuring N.U.M.

Watch the video, in which Baker plays a "black Hugh Hefner, below." It's party time!!!... Or is it? (shifty eyes)

Elvis
A Swedish woman who claims to be Elvis Presley’s “real daughter” is suing the King of Rock and Roll’s estate for $130 million.

I learned from The Hollywood Reporter that Lisa Johansen has been claiming for more than 20 years that she’s Elvis’ real kid and that Lisa Marie is an impostor (!).

In 1998, Johansen published a book called I, Lisa Marie: The True Story of Elvis Presley's Real Daughter.

Scarlett Johansson
It was recently reported that big rich famous movie star babe who seems to wish she was an indie chick Scarlett Johansson was recording a virtual duet with Dean Martin.

The Avengers actress sang along with Dino on the classic "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and the track has appeared online.

Scarjo has released an entire album of Tom Waits covers and also duets with Serge Gainsbourg's son Lulu on "Bonnie and Clyde" on an upcoming tribute album to Lulu's late, legendary dad.

Back in September, she said of the Martin duet, "Growing up in New York City, Christmas was never Christmas without Dino. Recording in the studio with Mr Martin in my headphones felt as though he were standing right next to me, crooning with that mischievous gleam in his eye.

"When I was asked to sing on this album, it was literally a childhood dream come true."

The song features on the holiday album My Kind of Christmas.

George Harrison
Today is the 10th anniversary of the death from lung cancer at age 58 of former Beatle George Harrison.

And what better way to mark the day than with news of a book about “the quiet Beatle”?

According to the Herald Tribune, George’s sister Louise, will publish a tome about her sibling in 2013.

The paper says that fans have been bugging Louise Harrison to write the book for more than 40 years and she “finally relented.”

Apparently, she’s nearly done writing and is now sifting through never-before-seen photos and documents.

George Michael
Oh, dear. We really hope around here that George Michael’s condition isn’t much more serious than originally reported.

Despite word that the singer is slowly recovering from severe pneumonia in a Vienna hospital, the Daily Mail reports that his family is holding a bedside “vigil.”

The paper says Michael, 48, has been joined by his 75-year-old father Kyriacos Panayiotou, as well as sisters Melanie, 49 and Yioda, 53. His former boyfriend, art dealer Kenny Goss, is also said to be heading to the Austrian capital, while his current beau Fadi Fawaz has apparently been at his bedside since Michael fell ill on Monday of last week.

They could just be being dramatic and sensational but the word “vigil” has ominous tones (as was pointed out by inMusic rock writer Kim Hughes).

A “close friend” is quoted as having told the Mail, "His whole family are with him. They are very close knit all of them. The family are around him. They are such a close family I can’t tell you. They all love each other.

Conrad Murray
Conrad Murray was sentenced today (Tuesday) to four years in prison for the manslaughter death of Michael Jackson.

Murray was convicted three weeks ago, after prosecutors successfully argued that the physician's reckless use of the surgical anesthetic propofol to treat the pop star's insomnia led to Jackson's death.

Witnesses testified that Murray gave propofol nearly every night in the two months leading up to Jackon's death on June 25, 2009.

Jackson was preparing for his comeback concerts at London's O2 Arena.

Prosecutors asked for the maximum four years sentence and CNN reports that they got it.

CNN reports that a sentencing memo filed with the judge last week by prosecutors said Murray has "displayed a complete lack of remorse" and is "even worse, failing to accept even the slightest level of responsibility."

Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus is caught in another scandal! Oh, the drama!

It seems the former Hannah Montana's friends threw her a birthday party for her 19th last week at which they** presented her a Bob Marley-themed cake. I don't know if that actually means what it sounds like it means, but when presented with it, Miley commented, "You know you're a stoner when your friends make you a Bob Marley cake," adding, "You know you smoke way too much f--king weed!"

So, the video made its way online and the media went bananas, so Miley's reps jumped in to state that it was all a joke. "The cake was a joke and Miley was being sarcastic. It is all being completely taken out of context," a rep told Access Hollywood.

Of course, it's not the first time Miley has been in a smoking scandal. Last year, that video of her smoking what she claimed was the legal hallucinogen salvia, also surfaced online. (BFF Kelly Osbourne references the incident in the below video). Jeez. Miley needs better, more discreet friends.

Osbourne later took to Twitter to defend her buddy and call out whoever released the video. "After @MileyCyrus salvia incident we started calling her bob miley as a JOKE!" Kelly tweeted. "the cake was also A JOKE! It makes me sick that Miley's so-called 'friends' would sell her out and lead people to believe she is someone that she is not!"

Watch the video after the jump.

**ARF101: Thank you SO much for pointing out that I made a typo!!!

Cee Lo
The subject of Cee Lo's "F*** You" was a shallow gold digger, but the love interest in this song, "Anyway," is of stronger moral character.

It seems that, no matter what Cee Lo does, the object of his affection shows him unconditional love and still loves him anyway.

The song is, of course, wildly catchy and the clip sees Cee Lo surrounded by a bevvy of women in bathing suits looking, as Tyra Banks would probably say "fierce."
