Johnny Depp and his lovely, lucky wife Vanessa Paradis have recorded a song for an upcoming Serge Gainsbourg tribute album.
Johnny and Vanessa (do they have a cutesy celebrity portmanteau? ParaDepp? Johnessa? I imagine that they are above such things) recorded Gainsbourg's 1971 track 'Ballade De Melody Nelson' for the album From Gainsbourg to Lulu, which was put together by Serge's son Lulu.
Lulu appears an about half the tracks and his sister Charlotte Gainsbourg also features on the album. Scarlett Johansson recorded a duet with Lulu on the track 'Bonnie and Clyde.' Iggy Pop contributed a version of "Initial B' and Rufus Wainwright covered "Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais." Marianne Faithfull offeres a rendition of "Manon" and Shane MacGowan sings "Sous Le Soleil Exactement."
I am super excited to get this record, which drops November 29.
