Sinead O’Connor is marrying her “beloved boyfriend Barry” today, which is her 45th birthday.
The Irish singer met Barry online four months ago, after he responded to a blog post she wrote pleading for suitors to come knocking.
In the lengthy blog, posted on her website in August, Sinead wrote that she was “so desperate for sex” that “inanimate objects are starting to look good as are inappropriate and/or unavailable men and/or inappropriate and/or unavailable fruits and vegetables.”
How could you resist?
Sinead posted her ad for “a very sweet sex-starved man.” Among other criteria was that he “be no younger than 44,” “must not be named Brian or Nigel,” not use hair gel, hairdryers or hair dye and have stubble.
She wrote that “Leather trouser- wearing gardai, fire-men, rugby players, and Robert Downey-Junior will be given special consideration. As will literally anyone who applies.”
It seems the winner was 38-year-old therapist Barry Herridge.
The two are tying the knot in Las Vegas, in a drive-thru ceremony.
Before boarding a flight, Sinead, who has been married three times before and has four children, told The Irish Independent - via THR - “I’ve been married before, but I’ve never had my dream wedding in Vegas. I wanted to do it there because it’s casual, quick, not religious and, most of all, very romantic.”
She said of meeting her husband to be, “Barry sent me this wonderful email, which just took my heart away. It had to be him.”
And he said, “I was getting off a train at Connolly Station one morning when I saw this woman acting strangely on the platform. At first I didn’t know what she was doing, and then I realized she was playing hopscotch. It wasn’t Sinead but a business women in a suit and in her 30s, just having a bit of fun.”
“I wondered why more women that age weren’t doing the same thing? And it struck me that this was exactly what Sinead was doing with her search for love, having fun, and I told Sinead about the woman in my first email.”

oh my friggen god...cheese fell off her cracker long time ago. As I am going through this same crap with my husband's "surfing the web"...and going up stairs to "fool around on the computer"....(he thinks I don't know)...find it disgusting still that people seek out other people..(perverts) for this type of service.....and also why can't people just communicate normally anymore....the internet is a cesspool of crap.....Sinead...take your prozac....
OMG what has happened to Sinead?? I used to think she was SO beautiful, even with the shaved head when she first broke on to the scene, and her music was great. Yes, we all grow older, but I seriously think she needs a shrink in all of this - she's done some crazy things in the last few years.....and this takes the cake. Get counselling Sinead - Drive-thru in Vegas - sounds like Brittney.
Good luck to Sinead! I hope this works for her. But I don't expect it to mainly because every single person I know who married in Vegas never stayed married longer than 10 years! Imo, LV is a jinx on relationships - easy come, easy go.
