Sinead O’Connor has added a wee bit more to the story of how her marriage to Barry Herridge fell apart after 16 days.
As you might know by now, Sinead met Barry after she posted a missive on her website announcing she was desperate for sex and threatening to do it with a yam and/or a fleet of trucks. How could you resist, right? Barry couldn’t. He responded and became husband No. 4 just four months later, on December 8. Well, imagine the world’s shock when that didn’t work out.

The Irish singer announced the news of the split on her website this week, saying “certain individuals” in Barry’s life had been trying to come between them from the beginning -- no doubt just like those shortsighted Montagues and Capulets did to Romeo and Juliet. She also mentioned how things were a little unravelled by her heading out in search of weed around Vegas on their wedding night.Now, she’s told the UK SUN that she nearly bought crack instead of weed, by accident, of course. But since Barry is an addiction counsellor, maybe the drug search wasn’t the best wedding night activity. Sinead, 45, says she left Barry, 38, on Christmas eve because, "It felt like I was living in a coffin. It was going to be a coffin for both of us and I saw him crushed."The whole reason I ended it was out of respect and love for the man."She explains his reaction to the weed/crack thing thus: "We ended up in a cab in some place that was quite dangerous."I wasn't scared — but he's a drugs counsellor. What was I thinking?"Then I was handed a load of crack. Barry was very frightened — that kind of messed everything up a bit really."Sinead says she won’t marry for a fifth time. “I don't think I will even date anyone."Wonder if those trucks are still available.
