Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon Levitt, who starred together in that indie movie, 500 Days of Summer, about the couple that doesn't work out (or something. I didn't see it. It looks soooooo boring. His character is depressed and her character's name is Summer, hence the title, which is all I needed to know...ZZZ...OMG, I just fell asleep writing about it...), have released a cutesy little video of themselves dueting on "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"
She, because she is Zooey Deschanel, whose contract with life requires that she be constantly layered with cutesy ironic on top of quirky dork twee, is wearing a tiara and strumming a ukelele. He, because he is now carefully straddling the canyon between heartthrob blockbuster star and credible indie actor, is wearing a suit and strumming a guitar (safe choices in both worlds, as men wear suits and play guitars in movies of all sorts).
Zooey has released two albums with partner M. Ward under the name She & Him, and she of course stars in that new sitcom about a twee quirky dork, The New Girl. J Gord here stars in two upcoming major flicks, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Night Rises and Steven Spielberg's Lincoln.
