Justin Bieber got a new tattoo and this is apparently HUGE NEWS because all the media outlets are picking it up, so who am I to ignore it?
The tat is of Jesus's face and it's the third in the 17-year-old's ink collection. The other two include another nod to the Son of God: “Jesus” written in Hebrew on his rib cage, and a tiny bird on his left hip, which is a matching of one sported by his dad Jeremy.
According to FOX News and about 300 other sources, The Bieb was spotted and snapped on a Los Angeles beach on January 5 sporting a large portrait of the Jesus on his left calf.
The black ink image appears to be inspired by the above illustration for “The Mysteries of the Crown of Thorns,” written by a Passionist Father in 1879. I don't know who drew that but it comes from catholictradition.org.
You can see the actual tattoo here, since I couldn't get any images through my photo provider.
“I'm a Christian, I believe in God, I believe that Jesus died on a cross for my sins," Biber told the Associated Press in 2010. "I believe that I have a relationship and I'm able to talk to him and really, he's the reason I'm here, so I definitely have to remember that. As soon as I start forgetting, I've got to click back and be like, you know, this is why I'm here."

nothing wrong with getting tattoos (I have one myself), but the kid's only 17 and already has 3?? I just think there needs to be a little more growing and reflecting to be done before doing something so permanent... the tattoos would mean so much more and he'd be less likely to try to laser it it off later.

If Justin Bieber and myself were around when they were taken it to Jesus , we would have jumped right in to help Jesus. Justin is a real man , just like Jesus and Dionne Phaneuf !

I wasnt' really a Bieber fan, until I heard a few of his Christmas songs. And now this? I think it's wonderful! I give huge props to anyone who openly admits that they love Jesus. Now, I'm not really into tattoos, but hey, if Justin wants to advertise his love for Christ, I say, all the more power to ya kid! Go for it! I'm liking this guy more and more.

Way to go Justin!!! It's great to see a young person unashamed of their faith in Jesus!

Maybe time before takes you Bieber just might to want to read the bible. You can start with the 10 Commandments and read the no Images one about 1000 time. There is also an OT verse about not marking up your body.
Christianity is spiritual. It is living the verse "Do unto other as you would have others do unto you". It is about loving God with all of your mind, heart and soul, which means trying to follow the teachings of Jesus and the first 13 Apostles.
With his money, he could help a lot of less fortunate people in the world. He is young and needs to learn more.

Sad that a child is making a decision about tatoos which could be permanent, in many instances extremely difficult if not impossible to remove. Injecting toxic inks into our bodies is ill advised. This remarkably talented youth needs better parenting.

Ya'll do realize that jesus is a fictional character right and even as a fictional myth he wasn't a blond haired blue eyed white guy.

Well, there is laser removal,
if he changes his mind...
Why is Jesus often depicted
as an "anglo-american" rather
than as a Jew?
Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
Jesus Christ is Lord.
God is Love.
See, 1 John2:22, KJV.
JFK: His name was John.
They called his name Jack.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
God is a spirit : God is Love.
Algebraically speaking,
man <= Christ <= God.

Well Put concerned parent! Totally agree with advise about toxic inks not good for our bodies, and a Tattoo should be a Very thought out choice, and not by a young individual... Posted by: another concerned parent...

ummm, aside from being underage to get a tatto (without parental consent), doesn't it say somewhere that body mod's (tattoo's, piercings) go against the teachings of the bible?
"Do you not know that your body is the temple of The Spirit of Holiness who dwells within you, whom you have received from God, and you are not your own?" ( Corinthians 6:19)
Ironic, no?

The Bible is the greatest fictional story of all time.
The Bible is thought of as being real by some, but most scholars would agree that it is a work of fiction. One cannot believe in evolution and the Bible at the same time. They cannot go hand in hand, if God created the world in 6 days, then it would take him an infinite amount of time to create even the Milky Way Galaxy, let alone the universe, and many other universes. Moses crossed the Reed Sea, not the Red Sea, and the Reed Sea has been known to create paths through the water on windy days. Its miraculous that people nowadays can believe in such false information.

Ah, but if Jesus was around, would he get a Justin Bieber tattoo?
Posted by: DMC | 01/08/2012 at 10:36 AM
If you are at all religious. The bible says that Jesus said no writings or paintings on the skin. I'm guessing the Beiber is a little bit religious if he puts a tatoo of Jesus on him.

To the tool who doesnt know history, yes Jesus was a real historical person. Im not talking the spirtual or supernatural aspects, just that yes we historians do accept he existed as a historial person and the basic political events surrounding his life did occur. So please before you spout your bigotry towards these christians at least get your facts straight.
