The Hangover and The Office star Ed Helms is releasing an album. It's a day of that today, I guess, as I just wrote about the fact that Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson is doing the same thing.
The star, who’s best known for his roles as Andy Bernard on TV’s The Office and Dr. Stu Price in the Hangover movies, apparently plays a mean banjo. This is according to The Hollywood Reporter, which reports that Helms and his Bluegrass band The Lonesome Trio are currently working on tracks for a debut release.

Hey, you guys. Tom Hanks' wife, Rita Wilson, is putting out an album.
Wilson is an actress and has been in about 30 movies herself, including Runaway Bride and Sleepless in Seattle (neither of which I've seen....I'm not a rom com kind of girl. It was actually interesting to discover just now that I've only ever seen one movie she's been in, Gus Van Sant's Psycho remake). She has also done a lot of TV and performed the role of Roxie Hart on Broadway from June–August 2006 in the revival of Chicago. And as a producer, she was behind Mamma Mia! and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Christian groups are reportedly slamming Johnny Depp and Babybird for a song about Jesus in a strip club.
According to Starpulse, the Christian Coalition and Focus on the Family are angry over the song "Jesus Stag Night Club" by Depp and the British indie rockers. The song tells the tale of a Christ-like figure hanging in a gentlemen's club.
It was recently reported that big rich famous movie star babe who seems to wish she was an indie chick Scarlett Johansson was recording a virtual duet with Dean Martin.
The Avengers actress sang along with Dino on the classic "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and the track has appeared online.
Scarjo has released an entire album of Tom Waits covers and also duets with Serge Gainsbourg's son Lulu on "Bonnie and Clyde" on an upcoming tribute album to Lulu's late, legendary dad.
Back in September, she said of the Martin duet, "Growing up in New York City, Christmas was never Christmas without Dino. Recording in the studio with Mr Martin in my headphones felt as though he were standing right next to me, crooning with that mischievous gleam in his eye.
"When I was asked to sing on this album, it was literally a childhood dream come true."
The song features on the holiday album My Kind of Christmas.

Johnny Depp and his lovely, lucky wife Vanessa Paradis have recorded a song for an upcoming Serge Gainsbourg tribute album.
Johnny and Vanessa (do they have a cutesy celebrity portmanteau? ParaDepp? Johnessa? I imagine that they are above such things) recorded Gainsbourg's 1971 track 'Ballade De Melody Nelson' for the album From Gainsbourg to Lulu, which was put together by Serge's son Lulu.
Lulu appears an about half the tracks and his sister Charlotte Gainsbourg also features on the album. Scarlett Johansson recorded a duet with Lulu on the track 'Bonnie and Clyde.' Iggy Pop contributed a version of "Initial B' and Rufus Wainwright covered "Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais." Marianne Faithfull offeres a rendition of "Manon" and Shane MacGowan sings "Sous Le Soleil Exactement."
I am super excited to get this record, which drops November 29.

Scarlett Johansson isn’t the best singer on the planet, but one kind of has to admire her tenacity.
In the past, the Black Widow has released an album of Tom Waits covers titled Anywhere I Lay My Head and recorded a version of Jeff Buckley’s Last Goodbye, which appeared on the He’s Just Not That Into You soundtrack. She also recorded a cover of Summertime at some point, for some reason.
Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, she’s collaborating with Lulu Gainsbourg, son of the late Serge, on a cover of Bonnie & Clyde, which Serge originally recorded with Brigitte Bardot.
The song is part of a forthcoming tribute album, From Lulu to Gainsbourg, which will reportedly feature Vanessa Paradis, Iggy Pop, Marianne Faithfull and Rufus Wainwright in addition to Serge’s kids Lulu and Charlotte Gainsbourg.
Serge died in 1991, at age 62.
Here’s ScarJo and Lulu’s version of Bonnie & Clyde.
Sometimes I wish I was Johnny Depp. I'm guessing this isn't an uncommon desire. He's got to be the coolest person on Earth.
Johnny joined Alice Cooper on stage at London's 100 Club over the weekend and played guitar on a few tracks.
Edward Axe Hands jumped on stage during the classic I'm Eighteen and stuck around for a medley of Another Brick In The Wall and School's Out.
"WHAT A NIGHT!" a message read on Cooper's website. "Alice played a blistering set full of classics and covers by his favorite bands.
Johnny is in London working on the new Tim Burton movie Dark Shadows, in which Alice is said to maybe have a cameo.

James Franco is not releasing his first-ever music EP, despite what you’ve heard.
The actor (seen here with Ke$ha, who does not feature in this story, in a picture I chose because wouldn't it be funny if they, you know?) has responded to reports of his musical ambitions, calling them erroneous.
Earlier this month, word spread that Franco and Kalup Linzy had recorded a series of tracks to be released under the title Turn it Up. But Franco has downplayed his role in the project, claiming that he simply added some spoken-word to Linzy’s racks.
"That's not my EP. Kalup Linzy is doing the EP, I think I do some spoken word on it, but that is not my EP," Franco told reporters at the amfAR Inspiration gala. "I've worked with Kalup before but I'm not doing it now."
Linzy is a New York performance artist and Guggenheim fellow, who often performs in drag. He and Franco are buddies and the two apparently appeared on General Hospital together.
I bet Linzy, whose Turn It Up, drops in July, isn’t terribly bothered to have Franco associated with his record. Even though the post-Oscars Franco isn’t as gold plated as the Can Do No Wrong pre-Oscars Franco, the guy is still pretty famous, and the connection can only raise Linzy’s profile.
Scarlett Johansson has teamed up wth Massive Attack to record a song for the upcoming Mexican thriller Dias de Gracia (Days of Grace). The flick, from director Everardo Gout, also features original music by Atticus Ross, Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, and Shigeru Umebayashi. So says the Guardian.
Scarjo and Britsol, UK, trip hop duo Massive Attack are recording a version of George Gershwin's jazz classic, Summertime, several renditions of which will reportedly be included in the movie, including those by Janis Joplin and Nina Simone.
No stranger to cover tunes, Scarjo recorded an album of Tom Waits songs a couple of years ago. And she has covered Summetime before, for the 2006 album Unexpected Dreams – Songs From the Stars. That time she was accompanied by members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
She's a mediocre singer but it's inoffensive, and you have to admire her gumption.
