Avril Lavigne has released one last video from her album Goodbye Lullabye, for the song "Goodbye."
In the clip, she sulks around a hotel room at the Chateau Marmont (apparently) wearing a thick wig and sexy lingerie -- which makes us wonder if there isn't some Avril redesign in the works for the next phase of her career, given her usually stalwart insistence on sticking to kiddie punk fashions, despite edging close to her thirties (the video for "Hot" not withstanding).
At the end she starts sobbing (oops, I guess I ruined the end of this riveting story), which is exactly what she does throughout the entirety of her last video, "Wish You Were Here." This girl could use a fresh injection of creative ideas.
Just sayin'.
She also shot a message of thanks to her fans, which precludes the video.
Last week Avril Lavigne and boyfriend Brody Jenner were involved in a late-night brawl at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. And now a photo of Lavigne’s damaged face has surfaced. You can check it out here.

Avril Lavigne is very sad in her new video, Wish You Were Here. This is because she misses her boyfriend or husband or whatever, who is presumably not her actual ex husband Deryck Whibley, as he produced most of her latest album after they got divorced. So, one might assume that she still sees enough of him. Also, she's dating that Brody Jenner guy.
(In related news, the fashion world is apparently irritated at Avril for flouting the underage model ban at NY Fashion Week by letting Brody's 14-year-old sister Kylie walk in her Abby Dawn runway show.)
So, anyway. She's crying and lighting things on fire and messing up her mascara and rolling around on the floor, as one does when one is heartbroken. I think she's also mad because he took all the furniture.
Here's a new video from Avril Lavigne, for the single Smile. She may be 26 but she's still rebelling like a 16 year old with a big huge chip on her shoulder -- "You know that I'm a crazy b*tch. I do what I want when I feel like it." And, of course, it's a love song!
This year’s MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVA) are once again shaping up to be huge with the announcement that Avril Lavigne, the Black Keys, Bruno Mars and City and Colour will join Lady Gaga and host Selena Gomez on the red carpet at MuchMusic’s Queen West HQ Sunday, June 19. Additional performer and presenter announcements to come.
Pat Benatar and Joan Jett performed on the Oprah Winfrey show this week on an episode called "Women who Rock." They were joined by Avril Lavigne and Miley Cyrus, respectively. Stevie Nicks also performed a set with Sheryl Crow.
I thought you might enjoy seeing Avril's punk rock troll doll costume and Oprah lipsync to "Cherry Bomb." Also, it's just nice to see Miley with clothes on. Enjoy.
Just because Avril Lavigne and Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley got divorced last year doesn’t mean they can’t share studio space.
“Everyone’s surprised we’re still so close. Like, ‘Really?!’ ” the singer-songwriter tells Rolling Stone. The interview will appear in the magazine’s April 14 issue to promote Lavigne’s new album, Goodbye Lullaby. “Deryck is the most talented person I know. He produced, mixed, played guitar and bass. I wouldn’t say it’s a breakup record. It’s about life. I went into it with a mind-set of not trying to write hits. People will make assumptions, but they’d be surprised what certain songs are about.”
The pride of Napanee, Ont., who burst onto pop radio with the harmlessly coquettish “Sk8er Boi” is now 26 and living in a Bel-Air mansion. She’s growing up—as is the music she wants to create. The first version of the album she turned into her record company, RCA, consisted of nothing but acoustic numbers and introspective lyrics. The label wanted something more “today,” tunes that would ease Avril’s fan base from “Girlfriend” to softer, less dancey tracks like “Remember When.” So Goodbye says hello with the radio-ready “What the Hell” instead. Compromise.
Rolling Stone also asks Lavigne what, if anything, she misses about her wee Canadian hometown as she dines at the Beverley Hills Hotel.
“Just the pizza place,” she says of Napanee’s La Pizzeria. “They have a special Avril Lavigne pizza there. And I eat free for life.”
Here's Avril Lavigne covering Ke$ha's Tik Tok on BBC's Live Lounge. She stopped b to talk about her album Goodbye Lullabye, which is out this week after all those fights with her label.
Avril has been going on about her label for a while, posting a letter on her website a few months ago blaming RCA for the long delay in releasing the record. And this week she reportedly told the News of the World, "It's hurtful actually. I put so much into this record, but the record company were kind of cold. But what it came down to was they really wanted me to go in a different direction and that was not OK with me.
"I've been doing this for ten years now and I write my own music. All of these new people were telling me what to do and I was like: 'NO, NO, NO!' This is my fourth record and I'm 26 so it's time for me to do something a little different. I love this record and I'm really proud of it."
