A couple of weeks ago, Trace Adkins was voted Country Weekly magazine's sexiest man.
Now comes word that the mag's readers have chosen the genre's most beautiful woman and it is Carrie Underwood. Also in the top ten are Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire and Shania Twain.**
The issue with the American Idol winner on the cover hits stands December 12.
The American Music Awards will air on ABC on Sunday night and, as usual, I have been asked by people who I suspect hate me to predict some winners.
See, it’s kind of a running joke around here that I am almost never right about these things. If there is a pool going in your office, you should probably take all the people I do not pick. Of course, now that I’ve said that, I’ll be right about everything and you'll lose your house.
Now, unlike the Grammys, the AMAs are decided by public voting. So, predicting the winners involves guessing what the public thinks. Feel free to weigh in and help me along here!
And we're off...here's a selection of choices.

I'm still no closer to understanding the North American fascination with Kim Kardashian. I don't even know what a Kim Kardashian does. What does it do? But as someone who is deeply interested in media and pop culture, I am incredibly fascinated by the fascination. It's truly freaky.
Of course, last night's CMA hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood wouldn't have been topical if they didn't touch on the most important news story of the past year, Kim's divorce after 73 days of marriage. So, they did. And it was actually really funny. I was pleasantly surprised with what a great job they did on the whole intro, which included Faith Hill and Tim McGraw Barbies and jokes about Hank Williams Jr., then Hank himself. The Barbie bit made me laugh out loud, and I'm a really tough audience (that's a lie, I'm totally not a tough audience).
Watch the intro below!

The countdown is on to the September 20 release of Tony Bennett’s new album of duets – inventively titled Duets II – which features the legendary 85-year-old crooner opposite music mega-stars including Lady Gaga, Aretha Franklin Michael Bublé, k.d. Lang, Sheryl Crow, Mariah Carey, Andrea Bocelli, Queen Latifah, Willie Nelson and, notably, Amy Winehouse.
It's time for a caption contest! Yay! Right?
This picture was taken at this weekend's Academy of Country Music Awards. It is Carrie Underwood and...um...I think...is that...? Steven Tyler? Why, yes. That IS Steven Tyler, Aerosmith frontman and American Idol judge, under that coat. But, uh,what's he doing there? Carrie sure looks suprised, or shocked, or something. And you know his reputation. Also, did Carrie borrow Avril Lavigne's hair? Why would she do that? It didn't even look good on Avril. And what's Avril wearing if Carrie has her hair?
So many questions. Can you answer them? Or at least shed some light or humour on the situation? Caption this picture. Write your brilliant caption in the comments section and the winner will be posted next Monday, April 11. You don't actually win anything - except the GLORY and SATISFACTION of a job well done and sense of superiority. But you didn't have to do much either, so what do you want?
Now, get to it. Caption awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
