Sort of. What he actually says during this interview with Ellen DeGeneres is “I love her as a human being, but sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything… I was very happy to be married to her, she’s such a beautiful human being, and I only have love and positivity for her.”
Oh, brother. I hate phrases like "I have only positivity for her." It's what people say when they've rehearsed their lines and couldn't care less about the person in question.
He then goes on to wonder why 36-year-old men can't breast feed. The question for the ages.
So, this is pretty gossipy but we're in that sort of mood around here today.
Katy Perry is rumoured to be romancing a dude from Florence + the Machine.
Contact Music reports that the "Teenage Dream" singer and Florence guitarist Robert Ackroyd were spotted holding hands at Coachella music festival, and you know that when people hold hands they are totally doing it, right?
Katy famously split from husband Russell Brand after a whopping 14 months of marriage, which is a fairly respectable amount of time in celebrity years (I had "Won't make it to the wedding" in the betting pool, so colour me shocked) not too long ago, then was rumoured to be hooking up with some French model named Baptiste Giabiconi.
Contact Music says: "The pair was spotted in the crowd at the Indio festival on Sunday as Perry's pop star pal Rihanna performed with Calvin Harris, and were later snapped holding hands as they walked in front of the crowd barrier at the event."
Katy Perry recently announced that her 3D concert documentary Part of Me will be released in time for the July 4 holiday, so you can see it and "be a firework."
The flick will chronicle Katy's rise to fame, life as a superstar, and... probably the same other stuff every concert documentary covers...it's not Don DeLillo's Underworld we're summarizing here. If you know and love Katy, you know what it's going to be about - her Christian upbringing, maybe her marriage and divorce, and if you don't know and love Katy, you probably don't care enough about her to see it unless your girlfriend or kids drag you. And if you love Katy, you'll love the movie.
When female singers Adele and Katy Perry are finished penning their tunes, chances are pretty good that they think something along the lines of, "Wow, I bet this will be a huge hit in the mixed martial arts community."
And they'd be correct.
As caught on TMZ video, Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight title-holder Junior dos Santos says that he likes to knock his opponents out. The Brazilian also likes to get pumped up to the sweet sounds of Adele and Katy Perry ("Fireworks" especially). It seems the female-geared tunes aren't a guilty pleasure but an earnest one.
If you can deal with the TMZ commentary, or have the stomach for ridiculousness in general, hit the jump to listen to the champ sing "Someone Like You."
"Off-key" does not do the tough guy's singing voice justice.
Naomi Wolf is mad at Katy Perry for putting out what Wolf calls Marine "propaganda" and is calling for a boycott of the "Teenage Dream" singer.
Katy's most recent video, for the song "Part of Me," shows Katy discovering her boyfriend is a no- good-two-timing jerkwad, leaving him, chopping off her hair and joining the Marines. The video is shot on a real military base and uses real Marines, with whom Katy trained during filming.
Katy Perry wasted no time following up her army-inspired video for "Part of Me" with a live rendition of the song.
All metallic-blue ponytail and skintight suit, Ms. Perry strutted her about-to-be-single self around the stage in Berlin as part of the Echo Awards entertainment.
The brand-new single for her upcoming Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection album gets an energy boost from a team of choreographed backup dancers and a metallic suit that one can imagine Star Trek's Spock asking his girlfriend to slip on in order to spice things up a little.
In the new video for "Part of Me," Katy Perry catches her cheating boyfriend, so she cuts off her hair, binds her chest and joins the marines. As you do. Goldie Hawn's character did the same thing in Private Benjamin, but without the chest binding and hair cutting. Also, her character's husband died instead of cheated. Anyway...
Despite appearances, the break up anthem is not about Katy's ex Russell Brand.
A new track from Katy Perry's upcoming re-release album has leaked online, "Wide Awake," from the repackaged Teenage Dream album, titled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. (It's amazing what kind of marketing tricks and money grabs they're coming up with these days, isn't it? Teaser trailers, lyric videos, repackaging the same album with a few new tracks and selling it again...)
Like "Part of Me" - for which Katy teased the video Friday - people will likely speculate that the song is about Katy's ex husband Russell Brand. She's already said "Part of Me" was written two years before she married him, though. And it's not like love gone wrong is a rare subject in pop music.
Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection drops March 26.
Katy Perry has traded in her blue hair for camouflage face paint. At least temporarily, for her brand spankin' new music video for "Part of Me." The teaser has already hit the Internet.
The video first single off her forthcoming Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection album is set to premiere on March 21 on MTV, the same night the network airs her special, MTV First: Katy Perry. Though fans are just given a quick peek at the visuals, it seems Ms. Perry is up to her old tricks: dawning fresh costumes and exploring new themes for each music video she does.
This time, the about-to-be-single-again Perry is getting all G.I. Jane as military helicopters whir overhead.
Part of me thinks it's silly that even music videos—themselves promo tools for the album—have their own promos, but if you're a diehard fan, seeing Katy in a bulletproof helmet might get you pumped for the full deal.
