Asking celebrities to parties is a big thing this year. And Taylor Swift has not been left standing in a corner. In February, Kevin McGuire, who is suffering from leukemia, asked her to his prom. She couldn't make it and in turn invited him to the American Country Music Awards. But he was in hospital. Hopefully, she'll make that kid's dream come true somehow. Meanwhile, she now has another invite.
This one comes from 19-year-old Devon Whitney from Aurora, Colorado.
Is Taylor Swift going to play Joni Mitchell on the big screen? That's the rumour.
You know what? I can actually see that working really well! I almost never agree with supposed castings of musical icons that may or may not be true lately. Rihanna as Whitney Houston? Hahahahahaha*deep breath*HahahaHAHAHAHA*wipes eyes*Ha. Hee. Heh.
Is Taylor Swift going hip-hop or is Atlanta's B.o.B. going country?
Though we've yet to hear the track, the two artists did record a song together for B.o.B.'s upcoming album, Strange Clouds.
Rapper T.I., who signed B.o.B. to his Grand Hustle label, revealed the unexpected collaboration when talking to Fuse at Austin's South by Southwest music festival.
Playing coy about recording with Swift, B.o.B. said, "I can neither confirm nor deny such allegations."
“I can. I heard it," T.I. said. “Taylor’s extended Hustle Gang. She a part of the crew. She just ain’t got her dog tags yet, but she’s a part of the crew.”
Asked how the odd couple linked up, B.o.B explained that Swift flew to Atlanta and reached out to Grand Hustle about working together.
This isn't the first time B.o.B. and Taylor's paths have crossed, however. In October, Bobby joined Swift during her concert in Dallas to perform his pop crossover single "Airplanes."
"Had a night to remember in Dallas performing one of my biggest songs with the ever-so enchanting @taylorswift13," he tweeted after the show.
As the release of the highly-anticipated movie draws nearer, the odds are in MuchMusic’s favour with news that three stars from The Hunger Games will be part of New.Music.Live on Monday, March 19. Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, and Alexander Ludwig, or as fans of the three-book series know them, Peeta, Gale and Cato, will be on hand with host Lauren Toyota for the full hour at MuchMusic headquarters. Fans can tune in to New.Music.Live.’s new air time at 6 pm ET to see two thirds of the Katniss/Gale/Peeta love triangle, as well as the head Career Tribute, as they share stories from the set and reveal what fans can expect when the first Hunger Games film hits theatres on March 23.
Look! It's another depressing article about how stars made WAY more money this year than you will in your lifetime. Yay!
And the star who made the most amount more than you on this particular list? Taylor Swift! Let's give her a round of applause.
Taylor is music’s biggest moneymaker of 2011, according to Billboard. The magazine has released its sixth annual list of the Top 40 Money Makers and T Swizzle is sitting pretty in the No. 1 spot, with $35,719,902 earned. OK, really? How did they round it to two bucks? Read the explanation of how they came up with figures here.
Taylor Swift has released the video for her Hunger Games soundtrack contribution, "Safe & Sound."
The melancholy ballad is co-written and performed with The Civil Wars, who also feature in the clip, which sees Taylor wandering barefoot through a barren forest landscape (so, of course, all I can do is worry that her feet are cold). The track is produced by T Bone Burnett.
Civil Wars' Joy Williams and John Paul White told Billboard they had just a four hour window so the song knocked out in that time. White joked of Taylor, "We told her to stop using us to further her career."
Swift also contributed another song to the soundtrack, titled "Eyes Wide Open."
The Hunger Games, based on the book by Suzanne Collins about a dystopian futuristic society in which teens are forced to fight to the death for entertainment, hits theaters March 23.
When you think about the rich tradition and historical influence of the American Kennedy family, you naturally think "Taylor Swift."
So it seemed appropriate that the pop-country superstar would be spotted strutting the red carpet in anticipation of the documentary film premiere of Ethel, which dives into the life of Robert F. Kennedy's widow, Ethel Kennedy.
Swift followed some of Ethel's 11 children in posing for red-carpet photos with the doc's 83-year-old protagonist. Ethel is a social activist, and the doc about her is directed by her youngest daughter, Rory. Ethel will air on HBO.
Rory thanked Swift prior to the screening, but Swift declined to be interviewed at Sundance.
In a Vogue article, Swift explained that she had spent an afternoon with Ethel and was interested in the life she and Robert led.
"You look back at the pictures of her and Bobby," Swift told the magazine, "they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody."
Taylor Swift has released a track she recorded for the soundtrack of the upcoming Hunger Games movie.
Thursday evening, the country sweetheart surprised her fans by tweeting out a link to the song “Safe and Sound” a sad, acoustic ballad.
“Something I've been VERY excited about for a VERY long time is going to be happening VERY soon (and I'm not referring to Christmas),” she wrote - via The Hollywood Reporter -- later adding, “And this is it, the big surprise... Go get it!”
