Emo boy and girl
Oh, dear, as if emo kids didn’t have enough problems, what with being emo kids and all.

Word in Tasmania is that your emo hair can damage your eyesight.

This is according to Australia’s The Mercury, which featured a sobering report this week on the hidden dangers of “long lopsided fringes.” HIDDEN DANGERS!

Stevie Wonder

And now for some extra special weirdness - Stevie Wonder related!

So, TMZ is reporting that soul man Stevie is the victim of a bizarre blackmail attempt.

A man claiming to be Stevie's nephew has been charged with attempting to extort the "Superstition" singer by threatening to go to the tabloids and say he's the product of an incestuous relationship between Stevie and Stevie's sister, unless Stevie paid him a lot of money. Well, it started out as a lot of money, but the price went down. Because the allegations are, of course, false.

143545303Not sure we'd ever see the day when a U.S. commander-in-chief would give a positive nod to a thug rapper during a speech, but Obama never strays from a good pop-culture joke, and his musical tastes are better than those of most politicians.

During his very clever and genuinely funny speech at the White House correspondents dinner, U.S. President Barack Obama shouted out rapper Young Jeezy in one of his punch lines.

The President jokingly confessed that he did, indeed, have a secret agenda that he would roll out if reelected in 2012.

"In my first term, I sang Al Green," Obama said. "In my second term, I'm going with Young Jeezy."

After the laughs and a smile from the First Lady, Obama followed the joke by saying, "Michelle said, 'Yeeeeah.' I sing that to her sometimes."

Jeezy, of course, acknowledged the President on Twitter:

Watch both the Prez's full speech (the Jeezy reference occurs around the 14:30 mark) and Jeezy's ode to Obama after the jump.

103026115Tenacious D, led by singer/hilarious man-child Jack Black, find a creative way to tease snippets from their forthcoming new album, Rise of the Fenix, due May 15.

If this two-and-a-half-minute bit of ridiculousness is to be believed, the D's new offering will compel its listeners to crank the volume to dangerous levels, till their ears trickle blood. And yet, they'll crave more.

The hilarious Bob Odenkirk (Breaking Bad) and bassist Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne) star.

Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber
's fans have named his little Bieb and the moniker has been trending on Twitter.

Gah! Wasn't he just 12 years old, like YESTERDAY? How can they be naming his manhood? Is it even called a "manhood" when you're three years away from being allowed to drink in the U.S.?

Hot-problems-double-takeRebecca Black's infamous "Friday" looks to have slipped in the unofficial Hot 100 charts for "Worst Song Ever."

The early candidate for Worst Song of the Year, the amazingly titled and wretchedly off-key "Hot Problems" by Double Take, took a turn for the viral over the weekend as it seems people with Internet connections can't get enough of young American women singing horrible lyrics in an awful pitch.

YouTube views for the high school duo's sensation have surpassed 4 million since last check, and probably are over 6 million by the time you read this.

The duo was a bit coy about their project when interviewed by MTV.

"We're working with a production company, but it's more of a behind-the-scenes thing," Lauren, one of the young ladies saddled with the problem of being hot, explained. "We don't like to talk about it that much."

According to MTV, the girls wouldn't give their last names, and explained the popularity of "Hot Problems" with this:

"We are getting some help, but in the end we have friends helping us out, a bunch of different people. We don't want to drag them into this," Lauren said, not confirming what the role of Old Bailey Productions has. "It's been crazy for us too to get so much attention and we don't want this to affect their lives too much."

"It was all just for fun and to just have something we could share with our friends," Drew, the other girl with a "mo' hot, mo' problems" dilemma told MTV. "We enjoy writing funny lyrics and songs and we decided that we really liked this one. So we decided to make it into a song and video, eventually. We really had no intentions when we put this up to begin with, so seeing it take so rapidly, we haven't really had a chance to decide what we want to do. I think that hopefully there could be a future with it."

So maybe this is the beginning of a promising new career?

"I don't think we're going to be the next Adele, but we do really like writing songs and coming up with lyrics," Lauren told MTV. "Who knows? Maybe we'll get into that."

Watch the clip after the jump, and let us know how it compares to "Friday."

In the wake of the buzz stirred by the appearance of the late, great Tupac Shakur (in expensive hologram form) on the stage next to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at Coachella 2012 last weekend, the geniuses who run Funny Internet Things That Get Passed Around have already drafted up the extensive lineup for an exclusively hologram-based music festival.

Where do I buy my weekend pass for this multi-genre comeback show?

Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses fame has penned another letter to his fans, outlining his decision to boycott the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction festivities and apologizing to the city of Cleveland for being a no-show.

This is the second lengthy bit of communication from the curious singer, who wrote a long letter last week to decline his Hall of Fame induction.

Rose's old group ended up performing with lead singer Myles Kennedy (of Alter Bridge) instead, and the Cleveland audience booed every time Axl's name was brought up. Not to fret, fans: he's sorry.

Read Mr. Rose's letter in full, unedited, as per his request:

142964947Wow. Just... wow.

If the Tupac-is-still-alive theorists need any more material, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg—friends and collaborators of the late, great MC—just gave them some.

In the reunited duo's headlining set during the weekend's Coachella festival, Dre and Snoop resurrected Tupac Shakur in hologram form. The stunt was one of several crowd-pleasing moments of the West Coast legends' set, which included a surprise cameo from Eminem to perform "Forgot About Dre" alongside the good doctor.

Watch after the jump to see a very lifelike 'Pac-o-gram storm the stage and perform "Hail Mary."

Diet Coke
Diet Coke now has a bottle inspired by Madonna's iconic cone bra outfit. Why that is supposedly a good idea, I'll never know. But it might have something to do with Europe, or France, which is where the bottle is available. So, sorry if you live in North America and have always wanted to drink your Diet coke out of Madonna's bra or a print fascimile; you're out of luck.

Billboard reports that Jean Paul Gaultier, the French Fashion designer famous for his avant garde designs, creating costumes for movies like The Fifth Element and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and her Lover, and, of course, for Madge's famous 1990 outfit featuring a brassiere that'll take your eye out, was recently appointed creative director of Diet Coke.
